🚐 Departure from the east coast
In the morning we leave your hotel in Passikudah or Trincomalee. On the way, your English-speaking guide starts to introduce the island's history, its legends and the character of the mountain region.

💦 Ravana Falls
The first highlight is the powerful Ravana Falls, roaring through the greenery. We stop here to rest, take photos and soak up the mountain atmosphere.

⛰️ Climb to Little Adam's Peak
Next, an easy walk up Little Adam's Peak. The trail is not difficult, and the view from the top is one of the best known: the Ella hills and green valleys stretching into the mist.

🌉 Nine Arch Bridge
Next stop: the legendary Nine Arch Bridge, hidden in the jungle. We'll watch a train slowly cross the bridge, a truly magical sight.

🚆 Scenic train ride
To feel the mountains up close, you'll take a train ride through a beautiful section of the route. Open windows, the wind, green slopes and the feeling that time has slowed down. Guests often name this as their favourite moment.

🍃 Tea plantation and factory
Next, the tea factory and plantations. You'll learn how the famous Ceylon tea is made, see the process and choose your favourite blend at a tasting. It makes a perfect gift.

🏛️ Nuwara Eliya and the old post office
The final stop of the day is Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England”. We'll stroll past the old British post office, soak up the colonial atmosphere and end a full day on a relaxed note.

🍽️ Dinner and rest at the hotel
In the evening, check in, have dinner and rest before day two, so you feel refreshed and in good spirits the next morning.

🗼 Ambuluwawa Tower
The second day begins with a visit to the unique Ambuluwawa Tower. The climb up the narrow spiral staircase takes some courage, but the reward is impressive: panoramic views of valleys and mountain ranges from the top that stay with you for a long time.

🛕 Hindu temple and spiritual heritage
Next, you'll discover the island's spiritual life at a colourful Hindu temple. The place is full of flowers and incense and feels like a living tradition passed down through generations.

🙏 Golden Temple of Dambulla
Next stop: the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a vast cave temple complex listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll see the exterior and walk through the ground floor of the temple.

🌿 Spice Garden
Before the day's highlight, we visit a Spice Garden, where the air is scented with cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla and other plants. You'll hear about the healing properties of spices and can buy natural products that will be useful at home.

⛰️ Tour highlight: choose your route
The final part of the trip depends on your mood and energy level:

🦁 Climb Sigiriya
The legendary “Lion Rock”, an ancient royal fortress with palace ruins and famous frescoes. The climb of 1,200 steps is a real challenge, rewarded with a breathtaking panorama from the top.

📸 Climb Pidurangala
An alternative route for those who love photography and open views. The path is shorter and less crowded, and from the top you get the best view of Sigiriya in all its glory.

🚐 End of the tour and return
After a full day, a relaxed drive back. On the way you can catch your breath, talk about your impressions and replay in your mind the two days that held all of Sri Lanka.

Hi everyone! I took a 2-day tour with guide Ishar and his trainee Rashen, and I really enjoyed it. It was a packed tour, and we visited some beautiful places! On day 1 we saw the Nine Arch Bridge, Little Adam's Peak, a tea plantation and much more. On day 2, Sigiriya and the elephant hotel stood out most. There were an incredible number of elephants, around 40. I've never seen so many. You could write a whole story about Sigiriya, it's the 8th wonder of the world! Everything went smoothly, without a single hitch. Great job, guys! We also had a superb driver who got us to every place quickly and comfortably. I recommend seeing all this beauty. You won't regret it!

We took a 2-day tour with our child to Ella, Sigiriya, Ravana Pool and Pinnawala. Our guide was Dilan and our driver was Chamara. We were lucky with them. The tour felt relaxed and they took all our wishes into account. Dilan did his best to bring us to every location first, with as few other tourists as possible. He is also an interesting person to talk to. We learned a lot and had fun. Oh, and our child adores Dilan and says he will miss him :) That says a lot. Thank you to the driver for the great driving. We got through all the winding mountain roads comfortably and without any problems, even our 5-year-old. Thank you, it was fantastic!

My friend and I took the two-day Ella + Pinnawala + Sigiriya tour. Huge thanks for the tour! The route is out of this world: Sigiriya, ancient history with an incredible view; the Pinnawala nursery, a sea of joy from the elephants; a great hotel, tasty breakfast and dinner, plus live music in the evening! Ella is home to the famous Nine Arches Bridge and the train. Nuwara Eliya has fairytale tea plantations and clean mountain air. Everything was perfectly organized, punctual and very full. Our guide Ishara is wonderful, a person with mega positive energy. His stories are a pleasure to listen to! Thanks also to Rashan for the photos and interesting stories! Special thanks to the driver for comfort and safety on the winding mountain roads. Sri Lanka made us fall in love with it for good! I recommend this tour to everyone. It's worth it! ❤️

We went on the two-day "Heart of Sri Lanka" tour with our guide Yasir. We loved everything. The places were stunning, we stopped for lunch at good cafés, and our guide was very attentive. We learned a lot about Sri Lanka from him. We visited Adam's Peak, the Nine Arch Bridge and Pidurangala Rock (the climb was not easy), along with many other places. We got to every stop before the big crowds arrived! Highly recommended 😎

My son and I went on a 2-day private tour with our guide, Dylan! Two days is physically tough, of course, but oh my goodness(!!!), so many impressions!! Dylan adapted the tour to our needs. We skipped a temple and had a simple but very pleasant introduction to village life, with a boat ride on a beautiful lake, and my son happily paddled a catamaran ;) Overall, the effort and the price of the trip paid off completely! Without trips like this, our feeling of Sri Lanka would have been very different! We're delighted!

...Two days with the best guide in Sri Lanka 🙏... I'd like to share our impressions of the two-day tour and say a special thank-you to the person who made these two days truly unforgettable 💔 ....Our guide was Ishara Vipul... 🔥💪💯 You know, there are guides, and then there are "guides sent from above". That's exactly Ishara! ... Two days on tour with Ishara flew by in a moment! This is a case where a guide becomes a friend. Warm, attentive and a really great guy. He tells stories in an engaging way, looks after his guests and truly loves his job. ....Very open, positive and incredibly thoughtful....👍👋😎 .... Ishara!!! didn't just run through the program. He immersed us in the life and culture of the country. He is also incredibly attentive to tourists... he always tells you where and how to stand for a photo, answers any question and makes sure you're comfortable. You can feel he doesn't work just to tick a box, he puts his soul into it. He is truly in the right place! 👍 Thank you so much for these two days, for your hard work and kindness. 🙏 And a special request to the company's director... 🌹 Please recognize Ishara and thank him for his professionalism! 🙏🔥👍 Employees like this are a real treasure and the face of your company. If we come back to Sri Lanka and book a tour, it will only be with Ishara!🙏😎👋

How to Prepare for the Heart of Sri Lanka Tour

Packed lunch from your hotel

Packed lunch from your hotel

If your hotel offers a packed lunch, take it with you. There are many stops and transfers along the way, so a snack will come in handy, although cafe stops are also included. It's best to choose food without sauces.

Warm layer for the hills

Warm layer for the hills

In the Ella and Nuwara Eliya hills it can be cool and windy, especially in the morning and after rain. Bring a light sweater or windbreaker to enjoy the viewpoints comfortably. It will also feel cosier on the train and in the hotel in the evening.

Sun protection

Sun protection

The sun is strong even when it's cloudy, especially at open viewpoints. Bring SPF 30–50, a cap or sun hat and sunglasses to avoid overheating. Apply sunscreen before you set off and reapply on the way.

Comfortable shoes

Comfortable shoes

You'll walk on trails, steps and viewpoints. Choose sneakers or shoes with good grip to avoid slipping and tiring out. Such shoes will come in handy especially when climbing Pidurangala or Sigiriya.

Chargers

Chargers

Charge your phone to 100% and bring a power bank. You'll take plenty of photos: the train, the bridge, waterfalls, tea plantations and panoramas. Power sockets are not always available on the road, so a spare charge matters.

Cash for extras

Cash for extras

Bring some cash for tips, souvenirs, snacks and small purchases along the way. In some places card payment may not be convenient, and getting change can take time. Small notes really help.

Rain jacket

Rain jacket

In the hills, rain can start suddenly and stop just as quickly. A light rain jacket will protect your clothes and keep you comfortable on trails and at waterfalls. A phone case or a simple plastic bag will keep your phone safe.
